Therapy for Depression

Finding hope and renewed energy for life

Understanding Depression

Depression is more than just feeling sad or having a bad day. It's a persistent feeling of emptiness, hopelessness, or disconnection that affects your energy, motivation, sleep, appetite, and ability to enjoy life. It can make even simple tasks feel overwhelming.

If you're struggling with depression, know that it's not a sign of weakness, and you're not alone. Depression is a common and treatable condition, and with the right support, you can feel better and rediscover meaning and joy in your life.

My Evidence-Based Approach

Therapy can offer a caring, supportive space to help you understand your experience with depression and begin finding relief. When life feels heavy or overwhelming, it’s common to get caught in cycles of negative thoughts or self-criticism that make it hard to see a way forward.

Together, these approaches support healing by helping you build awareness, self-compassion, and practical tools for daily life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you notice and gently shift unhelpful thought patterns that can deepen feelings of sadness or hopelessness.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

CPT can support depression treatment by helping you identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs related to guilt, shame, hopelessness, or self-blame. It encourages more balanced thinking, greater self-compassion, and a healthier sense of control and possibility.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on learning to make space for difficult emotions while reconnecting with your values and taking small, meaningful steps toward the life you want to live.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR can support depression treatment by helping process painful experiences and negative beliefs that contribute to feelings of worthlessness, hopelessness, or disconnection. It may reduce emotional distress while strengthening healthier, more compassionate beliefs about yourself.

There is Hope

Depression can make it hard to imagine feeling better, but with support, many people experience significant improvement. You deserve to feel hopeful, energized, and connected to life again. Taking the step to seek help is a courageous act of self-care, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

If you’re ready to explore a new way of relating to yourself and your emotions, therapy can be a hopeful step toward greater balance, purpose, and peace.
